Why We Exist
Welcome to HAB Anti-Bullying and Mental Health. We are a registered UK charity (Charity Number: 1185297) based in Market Harborough. Our mission is to ensure that no one has to face bullying, isolation, or mental health challenges alone.
By offering completely free advice, advocacy, and fully funded private counselling grants, we remove the financial barriers to mental health support. We ensure help is available right when it is needed most.
Our Story
HAB was founded in 2011 by Marie Connor, inspired by her personal experience advocating for her disabled son when he was targeted by bullies. What began as a personal fight for justice quickly revealed a widespread need for community support.
Parents and individuals facing bullying, domestic abuse, or mental health struggles often had nowhere to turn. Over the last decade, HAB has grown into a vital lifeline for families and individuals navigating these difficult journeys.
What We Do
We offer free, confidential, and practical services to support emotional well-being across our community:

Fully Funded Private Counselling: We provide grants to pay for private counselling sessions for individuals of all ages. This includes support for bullying, mental health, domestic abuse, bereavement, and suicidal thoughts.

School & Workplace Advocacy: We attend meetings with parents, schools, and employers. We act as a supportive voice to ensure your concerns are heard and properly addressed.

Education & Workshops: We visit schools and youth groups to deliver impactful sessions on online safety, cyberbullying, and mental health awareness.

Community Support Groups: We host local drop-ins and peer groups, including our fortnightly "Her Space" women’s support group, providing safe environments to connect and heal.
